Seward, AK Ididaride Dog Mushing Tour Chosen as one of Alaska's top 20 attractions, a must do for all Alaska visitors.
Your Seward Dog Sled adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of sled dogs as they are harnessed to the comfortable wheeled dog sled. Upon returning to the kennel you'll tour the Seavey's family kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher, and cuddle adorable husky puppies. Your guides are all Iditarod racers, and offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family's training for the most demanding dog mushing race on earth, the Iditarod.

At the end your driver will return you to your hotel, cruise ship or the Alaska Railroad depot. All local transportation and lunch are included in this package.
Inflatable kayaking, whitewater kayaking and canoeing option are available.
Lake Creek is a classic Alaska whitewater rafting adventure river. It is one of the few rivers in Alaska having both whitewater and great fishing. Besides the whitewater and fishing you'll have the opportunity to try your luck at gold-panning. If Mother Nature cooperates, we'll see some of the plentiful moose, bear and other wildlife that lives along the river. Depending on the time of year we might catch any one of the five species of salmon that run up Lake Creek, not to mention the abundant rainbow trout and arctic grayling. Lake Creek offers almost continuous class II/III whitewater with a few class IV rapids. The variety of whitewater, fishing, and the scenic qualities makes Lake Creek one of our favorite Alaska adventures. Lake Creek flows out of Chelatna Lake through the lateral moraine located between the terminus of the Kahiltna and Yentna Glaciers, which flow off Mt. McKinley (20,320 ft.) and Mt. Foraker (17,395 ft.). Weather permitting during the flight in and along the upper half of the river, you'll have a fantastic view of Mt. McKinley and Mt. Foraker that will make the mountains feel like they're in your lap.
ITINERARY ** Arrival — Fly in to Anchorage International Airport. Plan to arrive at least one day before your raft trip departure date. Anchorage offers many fine hotels and bed and breakfast lodging options. We can provide you a list of recommended lodging options or include hotel lodging in Anchorage with your tour package at a discounted guest rate. Let us know if you prefer the discount rate lodging option.
Day 1 — We'll get an early start. After picking you up at your hotel we'll eat a Sourdough breakfast at a local restaurant then depart for our two hour drive to the town of Willow. In Willow we will board a float equipped bush plane for a 40-minute flight to the headwaters of Chelatna Lake under the majestic southern face of Mt. McKinley. After setting up the rafts and eating a deli-style lunch we'll head down river to our first camp.
Days 2-6 — Our schedule on Lake Creek will be at leisurely pace. There will be ample opportunities for playing in the whitewater or to stop and enjoy the fishing or gold panning. If the group desires and we find that perfect camping spot or a hot fishing hole, our schedule does allow us to take a layover day to relax and enjoy the splendors of Alaska's wilderness. Around the fourth or fifth day we'll stop to investigate a working gold mine.
Day 7 — We break down our final camp and paddle the last few miles to the mouth, where Lake Creek meets the Yentna River. On a gravel bar we'll relax and wait for the arrival of our float plane for the flight back to town of Willow. We'll drive back to Anchorage and your hotel room, arriving early evening. After a hot shower we'll pick you at the hotel and have a farewell dinner.
