Dog Mushing, Seward Alaska Seward, AK
Ididaride Dog Mushing Tour

Chosen as one of Alaska's top 20 attractions, a must do for all Alaska visitors.
Your Seward Dog Sled adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of sled dogs as they are harnessed to the comfortable wheeled dog sled. Upon returning to the kennel you'll tour the Seavey's family kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher, and cuddle adorable husky puppies. Your guides are all Iditarod racers, and offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family's training for the most demanding dog mushing race on earth, the Iditarod.

The Real Alaska Tour
Seward, Alaska

This Seward tour package features all the attractions that truly make Alaska the Greatland. First, your guide shows you the sights of Seward. Learn why Seward was known as "the Gateway to Alaska" and "Mile 0" of the Iditarod Trail. See first-hand the effects of the 1964 Earthquake. Then, head out to Exit Glacier and enjoy a short walk along the nature trail that takes you to the face of the glacial ice. Watch for mountain goats, moose and bears. A hearty lunch will be served before you travel to the Seavey homestead and experience IdidaRide's Sled Dog tour. At the end your driver will return you to your hotel, cruise ship or the Alaska Railroad depot. All local transportation and lunch are included in this package.

Denali LodgesDenali Backcountry Lodge is a remote lodge located at the end of the 95 mile restricted Denali National Park Road in Kantishna Denali Backcountry Lodge offers you a complete Denali National Park adventure vacation experience.

Most visitors to Denali National Park and Preserve limit their visit to the developed and congested Park entrance. The more adventurous travel to Kantishna at the end of one of the grandest drives on earth, the Denali Park Road. Winding through the Alaska Range, deep into the center of the Park, this exciting route offers your best chance to see the wildlife that makes the Denali area so unforgettable. Grizzlies, moose, caribou, sheep, wolfs, fox, golden eagles, and a vast array of other bird life all may be sighted on the way to of from this exclusive lodge. And, should the weather smile on you, above it all towers "The Great One" Denali itself, the tallest point in North America.

While Traveling the restricted Park Road on the lodge's private bus it is not uncommon to witness astounding natural displays. During your journey, the experienced lodge drivers will share their knowledge of the Park and offer wildlife searching tips to help you locate the Park's animals and birds. Weather through binoculars or with the naked eye you may be fortunate enough to see: a grizzle sow nursing her first-year cubs; a band of bull caribou with huge antlers browsing along the tundra; or Dall sheep on the high mountain ridges, playing and frolicking as if they knew they were being observed.

Denali Backcountry Lodge offers more than a beautiful location. We encourage guest to explore the natural communities central to Denali – to understand how this unique and fragile environment flourishes in spite of the hash sub-arctic climate.

During lodge activities, lodge staff will introduce you to the subtly spectacular natural and cultural histories of the adjacent boreal forest and tundra.

Denail LodgeActivities at the lodge include

  • Naturalist-led programs
  • Guided hikes & walks
  • Gold panning
  • Evening presentations
  • Mountain biking
  • Photo opportunities
  • Optional Flightseeing
  • Natural history library and video collection

When Denali itself is "out," Guests can hike or shuttle to spectacular viewing areas, where even the novice can end up with truly stunning photographic results. When the mountain does grace us with an appearance, we are overwhelmed by the awesome Wickersham Wall, reputed to be the largest vertical surface on earth.
