Dog Mushing, Seward Alaska Seward, AK
Ididaride Dog Mushing Tour

Chosen as one of Alaska's top 20 attractions, a must do for all Alaska visitors.
Your Seward Dog Sled adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of sled dogs as they are harnessed to the comfortable wheeled dog sled. Upon returning to the kennel you'll tour the Seavey's family kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher, and cuddle adorable husky puppies. Your guides are all Iditarod racers, and offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family's training for the most demanding dog mushing race on earth, the Iditarod.

The Real Alaska Tour
Seward, Alaska

This Seward tour package features all the attractions that truly make Alaska the Greatland. First, your guide shows you the sights of Seward. Learn why Seward was known as "the Gateway to Alaska" and "Mile 0" of the Iditarod Trail. See first-hand the effects of the 1964 Earthquake. Then, head out to Exit Glacier and enjoy a short walk along the nature trail that takes you to the face of the glacial ice. Watch for mountain goats, moose and bears. A hearty lunch will be served before you travel to the Seavey homestead and experience IdidaRide's Sled Dog tour. At the end your driver will return you to your hotel, cruise ship or the Alaska Railroad depot. All local transportation and lunch are included in this package.

Seward, Alaska is a small maritime community and is located 128 miles south of Anchorage. If you're driving to Seward from Anchorage you should allow three hours for the drive. To know what youÕre seeing along the highway we recommend that you print out a mile by mile highway guide. The Seward Highway is very scenic and has been designated an All-American Road, USDA Forest Service Scenic Byway, and Alaska Scenic Byway.

Our recommendation, to take in all that Seward has to offer a three day stay would be perfect.

Below is our top suggestions on tours and lodging (not including fishing - Give us a call on the fishing). For the budget minded traveler there are numerous hiking trails close by and camping sites are located right downtown.

Small Boat Whale Watching Glacier Cruise – Full day Wildlife, Natural History, and Glacier Cruise ventures deep into Kenai Fjords National Park. Our small boat cruise seldom has more than 15 people on board. Nearly all of the other big boat tours have 150+ people on the boat. With our small group, everyone gets an excellent view, that is nearly impossible on the larger vessels.
Whale Watching Wildlife & Glacier Cruises – Explore the beauty and grandeur of Kenai Fjords National Park and Resurrection Bay while cruising in comfort. Kenai Fjords is famous for its wildlife and glaciers. A whale watching glacier cruise is the most popular activity in Seward both for Alaska residents and Alaska travelers. It's common to see humpback whales and pods of orca (killer) whales and gray whales in spring. Kenai Fjords is one of those special locations in Alaska that's just teaming with wildlife.
Private Puffin And Birding Tours - Join us for a 4-hour cruise within Resurrection Bay and to the bird rookeries at Cape Resurrection. Within the bay, look for all the avian migrants passing through the area. Besides the charismatic and comical horned and tufted puffins, you could also see such species as surf scoters, Barrow's goldeneyes, long-tailed ducks, harlequin ducks, common mergansers, brant geese and many other waterfowl.
